When family obligations or conferences take you out of town, you can’t always leave your work behind. With drop-in hours and our connection to the Proximity Nomad network, we make sure you have a place to work whether you are in Metro Detroit for a day, or are hitting the road.
Being a Remote Worker Sometimes Means Bringing Your Work With You
I recently went out of town for a friend’s wedding in the middle of one of my busiest seasons. As a part of the wedding party, I was expected to be there a day early for rehearsals and celebrations. Travel costs and other factors meant I wouldn’t be leaving right away after the wedding either. But with everything going on at my job, I wasn’t able to leave my work behind for 5 days.
My story is hardly unique. Employees in the mobile workforce have increasingly learned that travel doesn’t automatically mean you will be taking days off. Many professionals see time on the plane as a great opportunity to do some uninterrupted work. But what about once you touch down?
Drop-In Hours Provide Space to Work in Metro Detroit
Metro Detroit is making a comeback in business and manufacturing. Cobo Hall and other venues downtown are hosting large international conference. Companies headquartered in the suburbs are gathering remote workers for training and strategic planning. And of course, there are the millions of people who call the Detroit area home. All of that makes Detroit Metro Airport a busy place to be.
When your stay in the Detroit area is longer than your vacation, you need a place to settle in and get work done. At PatchWork Collective, we have you covered. We offer drop-in hours 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, where anyone can come and work in our open coworking areas. Drop-in rates include access to unlimited coffee, tea, and snacks, as well as use of our private phone booths and comfortable lounge areas, so you can find a setting that works for you.
PatchWork Gives Coworking Members on the Go a Home Away from Home
Anyone can drop into the PatchWork Collective. But if you are a member of a Proximity Network coworking space, that visit could be free. At PatchWork Collective, we know that mobile workers need to take their work with them across the country. So we have partnered with Proximity to provide space to coworking members on the go. Here’s how it works.
If you have a qualifying membership at any Proximity Network coworking space, you have access to the Proximity Guest Pass. This feature allows you to visit participating Proximity coworking spaces across the country (and in Canada and Australia), including the PatchWork Collective. Members have access to up to 3 free Guest Passes each month. You can use them all at once, or spread them out as you travel across the country. Just use the Proximity map to find a coworking space near you and contact the space to let facility managers like me know you are coming. We’ll handle the rest.
Whether you are in the Detroit area for business or pleasure, when you need to get work done, the PatchWork Collective has a space for you. Use a Proximity Guest Pass or get a Day Pass through our online portal, then come on in, grab a coffee, and get started working. We’ll see you there.
