The new co-working facility will serve remote workers, home-based professionals, and community groups.
Ferndale, MI – June 12, 2018 – PatchWork Collective is launching a new coworking space in Ferndale. Designed to make workspace and offices available by the hour or the day, the space, which is located at Woodward and Marshall, is set to open August 1, 2018.
“We’ve been talking about how Ferndale needs more office space for small businesses for years,” says co-founder Lisa Schmidt. “But not everyone needs a full-time office. This coworking space is designed to meet the community’s workers’ needs to meet clients, host workshops and events, and just have a place to get work done away from home.”
Coworking spaces like the PatchWork Collective are gaining popularity in big cities across the U.S., and internationally. But the Midwest has been slow to come onboard. Co-Founder and President Benjamin Long says:
“In the Metro Detroit market, we see more facilities where you can rent a permanent executive office or small suite. There aren’t too many options for someone who just needs a space part-time.”
The PatchWork collective will offer drop-in daily rates for the shared coworking space, as well as reservable offices, conference rooms, and event spaces. It also plans to spotlight local artists in its coworking spaces and feature a pop-up retail shop. For those looking to use the space regularly, a monthly membership includes 24-7 access and discounts on reserved spaces, as well as perks like unlimited coffee and a copy center.
“We want the PatchWork Collective to be a hub for community in Ferndale,” says Board Member Sarah Clark. “We plan to host weekly yoga classes, meetup groups, workshops, and networking events to bring people together and connect with their neighbors.”
The PatchWork Collective will be located at 22007 Woodward Avenue, Ferndale – the current InkAddict building. It plans to open to the public on August 1, 2018. Those interested in reserving a space or obtaining a membership can contact the PatchWork Collective to schedule a tour.
